The Ugly Art Party

A room full of people making some terrible creative decisions. Some on purpose. Most not.

On the 27th of September, we're taking over BNTR, Pune.

We're bringing a little art, a few cassettes we stole from our grandparents and several unnecessarily competitive games to keep your phone firmly out of your hand for a while. You'll be scrapbooking onto vintage cassettes, giving your boring lighters and matchboxes some personality, colouring postcards, playing Pictionary and Bingo, and getting disproportionately invested in Beer Pong.

There are no rules about being good at art. There are barely any rules at all, really. Just show up, make something ugly and see where the evening takes you.

Everything you make is yours to keep. A postcard, a scrapbooked cassette, a super well-decorated matchbox or something you'd rather not explain.

And while there may be no winners in art, there are absolutely winners in Beer Pong. They get free beers, because apparently that's how competition works now.

Come alone, bring your most competitive friend, or arrive with a group that takes Pictionary far too seriously. Either way, you're leaving with something you made, a few new people, and the very specific confidence of someone who has learnt something completely unnecessary.

Identity Crisis- Make yourself a name tag. The only rule? You can't use your actual name. Give yourself an alter ego and draw the character to match.

Touch Grass Bingo- An icebreaker disguised as bingo. Meet people, complete your card, pretend you weren't networking.

The Ugly Art Tables- Blank paper, colour-in postcards, pens, paints and absolutely no judgement. Draw something. Draw nothing. Just make a mess.

Logo Pictionary- Draw iconic logos before your teammates lose faith in you. Easy (1 point), Medium (2 points), Hard (10 points).

Dare to Pull Out- It's Jenga, but every block comes with a dare. Good luck.

Leave a Compliment, Take a Compliment- Pick up a compliment. Leave one behind for someone else. The only wholesome corner of the room.

5-Minute Art Dare- Draw whatever your card tells you in five minutes. Fail the challenge, face the consequence.

Cup Dominoes- Cups. Strings. Chaos. A surprising amount of competitiveness for something so unnecessary.

Fake Picasso- Imposter, but everyone's drawing instead of talking. Blend in, fool your friends, expose the fake.

Bollywood Rummy- A dramatic mix of cards, Bollywood references and ridiculous dares.

Trivia- Random facts, unnecessary confidence and bragging rights.
